Using Heathcode

28 May 2009 by Financial Medical Partnership

Using Healthcode in a hospital Healthcode has private hospitals covered. That’s why virtually every private hospital in the UK and many NHS private patient units use Healthcode to fulfill their billing and processing needs. Healthcode has streamlined billing and collecting processes with innovative programmes like VEDA. The VEDA eBiller is Healthcode’s automated billing system designed to transmit hospital and specialist bills to private medical insurance (PMI) companies. VEDA is what has made Healthcode the leading billing system provider in the UK. It’s so successful because the programme allows invoices to be sent directly to insurers via a secure Internet-based system, which ensures correct billing procedure. Healthcode’s Secure Messaging Service is useful in hospitals as well, as it allows for confidential communication between the hospital staff and patients’ insurers and specialists. Secure Messaging is helpful for discussing bills, discharges and medical reports when face-to-face contact is not possible. The Pre-Authorisation service is another Healthcode programme designed for private hospital use. This service allows hospitals to make sure a patient’s treatment will be covered by their insurance policy, so both parties are aware of what needs to be paid before a procedure takes place. Using Healthcode’s Pre-Authorisation service can make patient admittance and discharge more efficient and reduces unpaid debts. Similar to the Pre-Authorisation service is Healthcode’s Membership Enquiry, which allows hospitals to trace their patients’ insurance records over a secure server. Membership Enquiry delivers insurance information at near real-time speed, so there’s no need to make lengthy phone calls to insurers to confirm coverage. The ePractice Booker programme is available for hospitals as well. This organising system consolidates patient appointment information securely in an online database, so specialists and hospitals can coordinate a patient’s treatment. The Booker incorporates the Pre-Authorisation service, so when an appointment is made there is an automatic check to see if the service is covered by the patient’s insurer. It also codes messages exchanges between specialists and hospitals to the NHS National Programme standards so both public and private scheduling systems can be involved. Healthcode understands the needs of private hospitals. As with all Healthcode technologies, services used in hospitals are backed up regularly, so there’s no worry about potential loss of data. And support services are available by phone or e-mail during regular business hours to assist if any problems occur with the system. Using Healthcode billing and processing products will ensure a pleasant customer experience and make administrative processes run more smoothly. What more could a hospital want from a billing and filing service?
